Waikiki—located
in the southeast of Honolulu of Oahu Island. It is well-known by its stretch of
famous satin like texture of ivory color sand. Along the shore are the
skyscraping buildings that accommodate visitors from all over the world.
Waikiki is not only eminent by its beach, but also by the Diamond Head landmark
that serves as a perfect back drop for the luminescent Pacific Ocean water. The
other attraction that brings thousands of lovers, families, spectators and so
forth is the locals’ spirit of “aloha.” Some local performers parade in the
Waikiki strip to showcase their talents that magnetize visitors from different
sides of the globe. People talk about the beauty of Waikiki, but I wonder what
Waikiki wants to tell us on how this swampy farmland became a lavish
playground. This place has such rich history that makes it beautiful inside out
that most people do not know about.

Well I guess you can say Waikiki is some kind of mistakes to Hawaiians. But to foreigners it is paradise. It is the place where you want to come for honeymoon or place once in a life time you want to visit and have leisure time. Like you say they don't know it but I think we should start to let them know about it.
ReplyDeleteI personally think Waikiki is more like sin-city/tourist trap. espcially when it's high season and there are a lot of people. Also seeing all the buildings right no the water makes me sad, espcially because erosioin will take those buildings down in the not so distance future.
